Paige interrupted the fatal four way match between Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, and Alicia Fox to determine who the number one contender was going to be and she stated that she is back. Paige and the two call-ups, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, then proceeded to beat up all the competitors and stood tall in the ring. The crowd went crazy during this too which made the moment that much better and this really shook up the womens division. For Smackdown, while Raw had a return of an old superstar, Smackdown had a debut of a slew of new superstars for their show Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan made their first appearance on Smackdown and made an immediate impact as they attacked women superstars backstage and even interrupted the Womens championship match to beat down both competitors as well. This also really shakes things up in this division as well and it will be interesting to see where this goes. The Bad For Raw, all the stuff with the Cruiserweights this week was dull to say the least. Enzo Amore came out and cut a promo about his crew and how they are the top cruiserweights, only to have other competitors disagree and then it turned into an 8-man tag match. I feel like we see multiple tag matches with the Cruiserweights every week and it just gets old after a while and its easy to lost interest. For Smackdown, I didnt get this whole ordeal between Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and management with Smackdown. While I do understand the concept of the lumberjack match to punish Owens and Zayn for their actions at Survivor Series, the fact that they thought that they were going to get fired after beating the New Day didnt make much sense. Along with that, Paige returning was something that nobody in the WWE Universe saw coming, especially in the middle of a match. Lastly, Kane isnt finished with Braun Strowman after Strowman slammed him through the ring before Survivor Series because Kane sneak attacked Strowman this week with a steel chair While Smackdown did make some advancement towards their next PPV, Clash of Champions, they still need to layout some blueprints for what the PPV holds. In conclusion, Raw threw out more surprises this week, which made them have the better show.
